You shop, we block your street (illegally)

Following on from this rather splendid picture of a huge Tesco truck blocking the High Street while parked illegally on a bus stop, we have just received a fresh set of pictures of a Tesco van blocking not one but two streets in Crouch End, London (Harold Street and Hillfield Avenue)! Please send in any more pictures of Tesco's excesses to:

Hmmmm, stupidly and somewhat illegally parked yes, but it's not really "blocking" anything as far as I can see.

Anyway, he has his hazards on which permits any type of parking in any situation ever thought of...

@AL:It's definitely illegal to park on a junction like that and the reason is that it blocks the view of driver going out of the junction which results in them edging out too far to see around the blocking vehicle (resulting in accidents).

Certainly I would never park like that as I wouldn't feel comfortable about doing it. Tesco seem to have much lower standards of care.

PS I didnt know hazards allow you to park anywhere... I rather fancy you're being sarcastic!

I've been out with one of their drivers on a run and know that they'll park anywhere that lets them be close to where they have to go. If that means parking in the middle of the road or on the pavement then so be it.

Oh yeah, it's definitely illegal not to mention dangerous, incondsiderate, stupid and a myriad of other things.

I saw an advert for that job (delivery driver) a while back and it mentioned that applicants would be subject to a driving assesment. Who was this guy assessed by?

Did I hit a nerve there, its easy to say things like that to people on the internet but not so easy face to face. But you are a very very sad person that has nothing better to do with their life than complain about 1 of Britains biggest employers and biggest investors of people so I will forgive you.

woo

yes its obviously much less sad to be complaining about people complaining against britains number ... blah blah blah. if im so very very sad for owning a cameraphone and posting the pix here to complain then how fucking sad are you for complaining about me complaining. like i said ur obviously a total prick.

I come here to meet people like you as it makes me laugh that people are sad enough to actually defend themselves for being sad enough to post that they are infact sad.

Camera phone - fair play I will not mock anyone that can carry a useful item.

But it is obviously not a truck(the HGV kind) but one of the smaller "dotcom" delivery vans.

Isolated incident. Not Tesco's fault.

It seems that Tesco prefer drivers who park illegally. My sister ordered her shop last week, and the driver was instructed to park at the back of the flats where there were plenty of secure parking spaces. Instead, he chose to park illegally at a bus stop. He phoned me (as I was waiting in as my sister couldn't be there) to say he was here and to come down. I cam down the stairs and out to the bus stop round the corner. he packed everything hastily, damaging several goods, and left me to carry it all by myself, which meant I had to leave some of it unattended 9as he quickly got off, didn't wait for anything to be checked or signed).
I phoned customer service who said they wouldn't charge for the delivery and service charge and that they would knock the damaged goods off the bill. However, they DID charge for both the delivery and service charge and the damaged goods.
I complained via email this time, and they said they would reund the damaged goods and delivery and service charge. But now they are blatantly lying, trying to get out of it by saying that my sister has already recieved a refund for some of the goods. They keep insisting this is true, when it certainly is NOT! Last time she got a delivery, they substituted a toaster for one around £12 dearer! Well, they have messed with the wrong person - I have NEVER not managed to get a refund, and I'm not about to take Tesco's lying! I guess it's to be expected with Tesco though: "sale" items, or "reductions" are often more than pre sale, with a fictional "Was" price on them. Also, donuts seem to be stale. And Tesco bread goes stale quickly. I have a suspicion they are changing the dates AGAIN (they have already been done once for this). Plus fridges with meat are often obviously been turned off, and the ruined meat sold as if it is fresh. Tesco are THE most corrupt supermarket going! They make Aleef's seem honest!!!

You guys make me laugh, its not exactly Tesco's fault! It is the drivers fault, jus coz 1 guy did something wrong it dnt mean whole of tesco is wrong. Its like "if sum1 is a theif then the whole entire family is a theif" This is not true and a fair statement. So dont judge the company for 1 persons mistake. If you have a problem take the drivers name and report him, you have pictures thats good, when you make the complaint show them it, something will be done about it but you will not see what is happening as it is a personall matter with the employee which you cannot be involved but only raise the complaint. And you be hcarged when you order the shopping, thats when you at the checkout, you paid for the shopping before you get it delivered, any problems then you get a refund and its ur duty to make sure its refuned not tescos. But Tesco sud refund it, best thing to do is speak to dot.com manager or the duty manager at the store and ask for a compensation which theyu are happy to offer. But personally its ridiculas taking pictures of vans parked up. Do you take pictures of taxi's, busses parked at wrong stop, HGV trucks blocking road, sum1s broken down car etc.... serious get out more and make use of the camera in a better way. no offenct to anyone at all just my thoughts thanks for reading

This is not a huge truck but a rather small dot com van, these guys only have car licences so try not to be so stupid and confuse them with the hgv trained drivers who drive the Tesco trucks you moron!!!!

I'm a van driver for Tesco. There are approximately 200 drivers working from our dot com delivery centre. I've been with the company for 18 months. Listening to other drivers speak there are a spectrum of attitudes. Generally i think drivers try to avoid causing inconvenience but sometimes it's unavoidable. Also, was this driver delivering? The van might have broken down.....
