Tesco's Cheapside Manager Alan is an Ape!
I bought some Bahlsen biscuits marked on special earlier this week and noticed that the till price was £ 1.03 compared to the £ 0.79 on the shelf. I noticed while doing a self-service check out that the price was wrong and a member of staff corrected the price back to what it should be. Today I thought I would see if they had bothered to fix the error and bought the biscuits again but sure enough the price still came up at £ 1.03 in the check-out despite the shelf price still being £ 0.79.
I insisted on seeing the manager (Alan in the Cheapside Branch in London) who acted in a surly manner and just shoved the £ 0.24 owing and my receipt at me. He was upset because he thought I should have just called another checkout supervisor and had them correct the price while I was checking out. When I explained that it wasn’t my job to correct their prices when I have already told them that they are wrong and said I should have been given an apology for this attempt to rip me off, he got surly and told me “there is a Marks and Spencers nearby – go there in future”. When I said I would report him he then started telling me not to come back to the store and was yelling at me as I left the store.
Clearly staff training is a low priority at Tesco as is correcting “mistaken” prices – especially given that the new price-correction only policy now makes it a very lucrative business.

I think some creative liberties have been taken here. So you were perfectly polite and the store manager was rude for no reason?
For some reason I have an urge to stroke my non-existent beard.
Of coarse this happens, tesco wouldn't be where it is today if it didn't penny pinch your wallets, they have been ripping the public off for years,they are good at it! Every little helps in their pockets and goes towards buying off even more land to take over the world.

Think about this though, just my theory:
I bet the manager is actually a really nice guy, But unfortunatly,He is told to do this by the head office training allmighty and he can't tell anyone.
Whilst being under pressure and probably feeling stressed and guilty from it all he hates his job,and yet another soul like yourself has noticed the rip off they imply and the guy is near a breakdown.
I don't know many people that work in tescos that actually enjoy it.
Anyway, don't go there, don't support any supermarket if you can help it,Support local shops as they are the only hope we have left for our next generation of children,honest think about it.
One day tesco will eat itself in its own success but unfortunate for us leave this country like bosnia.

Your IQ must be low. You can't guess the intelligence of people you don't know, thats an assumption, among others you make. People who assume their own assumptions to be fact don't know if their right or not. So to make such an asumption your own IQ won't be as high as someone who doesn't do this.

And for the record, Tesco are fleecing you! Take Jaffa Cakes for example(don't laugh, I eat these more than anything else!!) the RRP is £1.19 but in my local Tesco they are now £1.49. Another example is the ground coffee I usually buy... Was £1.68 until October, when it increased to £1.87 and is now £2.29. Evil!!!
I now shop at Waitrose, it is seriously cheaper.

The customer may believe they are always right but 9 times out of 10 they are wrong, just mis understood something... so now who has a low IQ! Well.. it said it was 99p so it must be... acutally sir thats thr product next to it! Dont suppose you would always be able to sit and take someone shouting in your face when something really isnt your fault. Clearly customer service desk is there to take complains, however we are not there to be treat like animals. Think about your place of work, if something goes wrong it isnt personally your fault is it! Just because you have had bad experiences at tesco there is no need to start slating staff, we are working to make a living and maybe you need to take a look at the bigger picture
