Tesco Direct goes Indirect with Poor Delivery

I want to keep this brief as I have already wasted weeks trying to get an oven delivered, fitted and old one scraped. Not a difficult process - you would hope.

Urgh I feel sick even just thinking about the whole thing. Here goes. It was all arranged for Tuesday the 20th March so I took the day off. At 8.30 the cooker was delivered, but to my surprise the delivery men just left, the cooker dumped in the middle of my sitting room. Chasing them down the road (in my best pink slippers) I told them that I had also paid for installation and scrap. They told me someone would turn up later as it’s a separate job. By 7pm I was sadly still waiting.

After waiting 20 mins to get though to Tesco I was told that engineers only come out on Saturdays in my area (I live in south London not the Shetlands) anyway Saturday no show (no phone call to say they had cancelled it) so I took the following Friday off work as it was arranged for then (by a private engineer to take on the work they can't handle …he is a very busy man!) anyway AGAIN no show, so they promised Saturday by now 11 days late.

To my delight he showed upand installed the new cooker, to my horror I still have the old cooker outside sadly waiting to be scraped, the scrap people again did not bother to show up or call to say they had cancelled. I have now been promised Wednesday which will make it 3 weeks late!

I have been given my delivery cost back and offered £100 in compensation, but when I weigh that up with the fact that 2 weeks after it was meant to all be completed its just crap - I was even told to get my council to collect it!!!

I feel old and tired and will never ever order from Tesco extra again, if you value your mental health don't go near them!

Most local councils offer a free scrap collection service - Why didn't you call them and arrange for them to pick up your old one a few days after the new one arrived?

Sounds like you need to do a little more planning.

I've never heard of a shop that sells ovens offering to take away your old scrappy oven and dispose of it for you!

I think you need to chill out a bit. sounds like you are a bit of a control freak. heard of council collections?

agree with Emmeline, I ordered a cooker from them and trying to get it fitted is a nightmare. being passed from pillar to post,

my parents are in their 70's and have no working cooker, tesco do not give a damn

often councils have up to two weeks waiting to collect scrap and only collect from street level - which is the problem i had living on the 3rd floor. Tesco cahrge £5 to recycle/scrap old crap - cheaper than councils and its "meant" to be don on the same day. Tesco are crap - end of.

well maybe i was lucky with my tesco's order, but i guarantee you not as bad as curry's.they dont call they dont deliver you cant get intouch and its probably damaged. given them more than one chance.

There are millions of unsatisfied customers out there. The delivery service is the worst on earth!

I am sorry to say I really was let down badly.
1. delivery missed their slot and showed up without a phone call and returned with my product.
2. I wasn't contacted to arrange another date for delivery and had to chase them up.
3. when I did speak to someone I found out I was booked but no one told me or arranged it with me?
4. I had to stay at home 2 weekends (never mind that some of us work all week and weekends are our shopping days and sorting things out) waiting fr delivery that actually didn't come on time.
5. As it is I am still waiting.

I think this is appalling and shouldn't be allowed. We pay for delivery and you guys have no decency or whatsoever to respect us.

If a service is offered (and charge) it should be oblidged!! Tesco are a nightmare we will NEVER use them again - still waiting for shed to be collected for 6 weeks mean while over 600 out of pocket!!

I live in Barnet and I shop in Boreham Wood and I am unable to walk round the store and have been using their mobility scooters for a long time.

FOr the last 3 weeks none of the scooters ahve been qworking and I am unable to do my shopping.

I have been continually told that the frim repairing them is going to repair them, but nothing has been done.

It takes away my feeling of independence and Tesco's have always prided themselves that they are user friendly. I am afraid that this is not the case.
